About Marites Club

Marites Club is an 18+ social application with public country, region and city chats, private messages, profiles and friendships. This policy covers the Android application, web version and Marites Club server.

Data we process

Why we use data

We use data to create and secure accounts, deliver chats and notifications, connect members, translate messages, operate rewards, respond to reports and deletion requests, and prevent spam, fraud and abuse. Marites Club has no advertising SDK, does not sell personal information and currently does not sell coins for real money.

Permissions and optional features

The camera is used when you choose to take a photo or record a video. The microphone is used when you record a voice message or video. Selected photos and videos are uploaded only when you choose them for a profile or message. We store the attachment source (gallery, camera or microphone) to label it in the conversation. This label describes the attachment action and does not verify authenticity. Notification permission is optional. When you tap Detect automatically in search, you may grant foreground location access. Coordinates rounded to about 100 metres are sent to our server to suggest nearby places from our geography directory, processed only for that request and not saved. No background tracking occurs, and your profile location does not change. Location access is optional; you can select a place manually. Marites Club does not request your address book. You may decline camera and microphone permissions and upload a gallery photo instead. A profile photo is required to complete new registration.

Bug reports

When you submit a bug report, we store your description, account reference, app version, platform and screen name so our team can investigate and reply. Technical media-failure reports are also created automatically with the operation stage, media type/source, enumerated error code, app version and platform. They do not include message text, media content, passwords or login tokens. Private chats and photos are not attached automatically. Reports are visible only to their author and authorized administrators. Bug reports are removed when you delete your account; operational backup retention still applies.

Who receives data

Public content and profiles are shared with other members according to app access rules. Private messages are accessible to their participants; reporting a message shares an evidence copy with moderators. Authorized operators may access service data to maintain the service or investigate abuse. Private messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Completed browser translations are stored on the Marites Club server per message and language. On phones, completed translations are cached locally in app-private storage and are not uploaded from the phone. Cached results are removed when the app learns a message has been deleted or access has been revoked; expired results are not shown. Signing out clears the phone translation cache.

Google provides sign-in and Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android notifications. Push requests include delivery identifiers and a generic notification, not message text or media. ML Kit translates text on the phone and does not send translation input or output to Google. ML Kit and its Firebase components do collect technical data, including installation identifiers, app/device details, performance/error events and language settings. These SDKs use HTTPS. The Marites Club backend and encrypted backups are hosted on infrastructure used by the operator. Processing by the operator and service providers may take place outside your country. Browser translation sends the requested message text to the operator's server-hosted translation model and stores the result. Native phone translation remains on-device.

Public chat moderation

Before a new public text message can appear, it must pass an automatic check or moderator review. When OpenAI moderation is configured, only that public message text is sent to the OpenAI Moderation API; we do not add profile identifiers. The text itself may contain personal data. Private messages and their attachments are not automatically scanned by this service. Public chats currently accept text only. Flagged messages and checks that cannot complete are held for authorized moderators, without appearing in the public feed. Authors receive the review result and may retry an approved message. Contact support to appeal a decision.

Pending review content expires after 30 days; automatic approval caches expire after five minutes and manual decisions after 24 hours. Expired review rows are cleared during periodic cleanup, and account deletion clears that account's review rows. Minimal decision audit records and backups follow the retention rules below. Provider processing follows OpenAI data controls.

Search conversations

Search connects you with another adult member who is looking for a conversation at the same moment, preferring people from your city and region. Both of you see each other's public Marites Club profile (nickname, photo, age, city, status and interests) from the start, and the conversation is an ordinary private chat saved in Messages. Email and Google or Apple account details are never shown. You can move to the next person, block or report your partner at any time.

Storage and deletion

Profiles and ordinary messages remain until deleted through available app controls or account deletion. Disappearing message content becomes inaccessible at its expiry time and is cleared by periodic cleanup. Profile-visit history is cleared after 90 days; unreferenced uploads become eligible for cleanup after one hour. Media preserved for a report is released from that hold after 90 days. Recipients can save or screenshot content before deletion.

Deleting your account revokes sessions and notification tokens, removes your profile from member access and clears its identifying profile fields, clears message content in conversations involving your account, removes relationships and deletes your uploaded media except preserved report evidence. Minimal account/provider identifiers, coin/referral records, message routing metadata, rule acceptance and moderation records can remain for preventing repeated signup rewards, fraud, abuse and reviewing decisions. They are not displayed as an active profile. These service records do not currently have a fixed automatic deletion deadline; they are retained for those stated security and recordkeeping purposes. Report evidence may still include previously reported personal content.

Scheduled encrypted operational backups rotate over a 30-day retention window. Manually retained recovery or incident copies may be kept longer and must be reviewed when handling a deletion request. Deleted information can remain in earlier backups until rotation; any recovery must reapply recorded deletion requests before normal service resumes. Provider SDK data follows the providers' retention rules.

Your choices and requests

You can edit your profile, change translation and notification preferences, block members and delete your account in Settings. You can also request account deletion without reinstalling the app using our account deletion page. Contact support@maritesclub.com for questions or requests about your data; we will verify ownership before disclosing or deleting account data. We may retain information needed to address a specific legal or security obligation and explain the reason when applicable.

Children and policy updates

Marites Club is for adults aged 18 and over. Report suspected underage accounts or child-safety concerns using in-app reporting or support@maritesclub.com. See our child-safety standards. Material changes to this policy will be published here with a revised effective date.
